Russian medical schools and colleges have switched to training according to the federal state educational standards of the third generation and the provisions of other legislation acts related to the field of education. Expected is not only to integrate these changes into the learning process, but it is also important to prepare future medical specialists for the situation that has evolved in the professional environment today, in line with the current realities.
Certainly, it was impossible not to reckon with the fact that Hygiene is a propaedeutic discipline, and therefore the textbook must provide for this particular teaching function. At the same time, the authors of separate sections tried to share the achievements of modern medicine and hygiene with students to make them aware of the status of these fields.
The author team endeavored as much as possible to take into account the dynamic and not very simple changes in society as a whole and modern trends in medicine.
Separate chapters present hygienic requirements for the organization of nutrition, water supply, and living conditions of population; for the organization of children and adolescents? education, of the work of health care facilities, working conditions at industrial enterprises and agricultural complexes. These requirements are universal; they are focused on maintaining the health of various population categories and can be applied to the conditions of any country.
The authors are open to rational comments and suggestions that will contribute to the improvement of this publication, both in form and in content.
The textbook is recommended for students of medical universities majoring in General Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
