Purpose of the class: to teach students (trainees) to use PT means and forms at different patient rehabilitation stages (inpatient facility-polyclinic-sanato-rium) based on the knowledge about mechanisms of impaired function compensation in respiratory diseases.
Test questions for background information check.
1. What does the external respiration system consist of?
2. Name clinical and physiological RF parameters (VC, respiratory volume, Borg subjective dyspnea assessment scale).
3. What does the normal gas supply function of lungs depend on?
4. Due to what can gas exchange function disorders develop?
5. Which restrictive disorders of external respiration exist?
6. Which muscles work during inspiration and expiration?
7. Name the methods of patient examination in respiratory diseases (so-matoscopy, anthropometry, functional tests).
8. What is pneumonia? Clinical pattern, methods of examination.
9. What is bronchial asthma? Disease aetiology and pathogenesis.
10. What are the main methods of treatment for patients with respiratory diseases at the inpatient rehabilitation stage?
Skills to be mastered by the student (trainee) during the training session.
► Evaluate the patient's condition using methods of somatoscopy, anthropometry, functional tests, subjective dyspnea assessment scale, fill in the documents.
► Educate the patients to perform respiratory exercises correctly (e.g., draining exercises, diaphragmal respiration, etc.).
► To determine the purpose and objectives of rehabilitation treatment.
► Perform functional tests. Evaluate their results.
► Assign the motion regimen. Determine PT means, forms, and methods.
► To determine the dosage of PT means.
► Perform MHG, RG procedures with patients (in the ward, PT hall).
