The purpose of the lesson is to teach students (trainees) to use means and forms of PT at various stages of patient rehabilitation (hospital-clinic-sanatorium) based on knowledge on compensation mechanisms for the impaired functions in injuries and diseases of the nervous system.
Test questions and tasks for background information check.
1. What motor regimes and stages of rehabilitation of patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system exist?
2. List the types of disorders (central and peripheral).
3. What are the methods for evaluation of the state of the nervous system (somatoscopic, anthropometric, functional studies, scales and questionnaires) used in patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system?
4. What is an ischemic stroke? Its prevention.
5. What are the classification and clinical picture of ischemic stroke?
6. What is a hemorrhagic stroke? Clinical symptoms, course. Treatment.
7. What diseases of the peripheral nervous system are known?
Using a specific example, examine the patient, establish a diagnosis and prescribe treatment.
8. What is a head injury? Classification, treatment principles.
9. What is spinal cord injury? Clinical symptoms, course. Treatment.
10. What means of PT are used in the rehabilitation of patients? Skills to be mastered by the student (trainee) during the training session.
► To assess the motor capabilities of a patient with the nervous system damage (assessment of the muscle tone, strength, deep and superficial sensitivity, balance of static and dynamic when sitting and standing), using scales and tests adopted in neurology.
► Develop a combined rehabilitation treatment program patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system.
