The second issue of the ninth volume of “Dictionary of the language of Russian poetry (20th сentury)” contains 2290 entries.The y include poetic lines from the sources of the Dictionary based on works of ten outstanding poets of the Silver Age: I. Annensky, A. Akhmatova, A. Blok, S. Yesenin, M. Kuzmin, O. Mandelstam, V. Mayakovsky, B. Pasternak, V. Khlebnikov, M. Tsvetaeva. Within the entries, the lines are chronologically ordered; in total, they provide a wide range of data concerning the rhythmics of the headword context, as well as the “increments of meaning” in it and the history of the word in the poetic language of this period. All contexts are accompanied by special codes indicating the author and the creation date of the text; as in, for instance, Ann909, Akhm912, AB914, Yes915, Kuz916, OM918, M920, P921, Khl921, Tsv935. If necessary, the headwords of entries and contexts are accompanied by stylistic and other labels and short comments. The Dictionary demonstrates the variety and expressiveness of the language of poetry and the “artistic memory” of its words. Enriching our aesthetic horizons, it helps to clarify the impressions of the lines that the reader has long loved and to think about their connections with many lesser-known ones. The Dictionary is addressed to philologists, linguists and literary critics, cultural scientists, as well as to a wide range of fans of Russian poetry.
