Chapter 2. MEDICAL CONTROL IN MEDICAL REHABILITATION

The session aims to study methods of research and assessment of the physical and functional state of the patient's body.

Test questions for background information check.

1. What is the somatoscopy method? Its evaluation.

2. What are the main methods of performing functional research (PWC170 test, spiroergometric testing)?

3. What is the Harvard step-test? Its evaluation.

4. What rating scales are used in PT?

5. What is the international classification of functioning?

6. What does the study of the spinal column (types of posture, possible defects, mobility) include?

7. What does the study of the lower and upper extremities include (examination of patients with diseases and injuries of LMS)?

8. What are the methods of physical development examination (somatos-copy, anthropometry)?

Skills to be mastered by the student (trainee) during the training session.

► To be able to conduct, evaluate and correctly record the submaximal test

PWC170 in the protocol.

► Be able to assess the aerobic and anaerobic performance capacity, MOC at spiroergometry.

► To be able to conduct, evaluate and correctly record methods that evaluate the physical development of the patient in the protocol:

• perform an external examination of the patient (somatoscopy);

• perform anthropometric examination (determine body posture, mobility of the cervical and lumbosacral spine, measure the mobility of large joints with an angle gauge, assess the patient's gait);

• evaluate physical development using standards and indices methods.

► Assess physical activity using the Borg scale and evaluate the results. Practical lesson structure is standard.

2.1. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF MEDICAL CONTROL

A special place in the system of medical rehabilitation is given to medical control - constant medical monitoring of the patients performing physical exercises during treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.
