13.1. Hip fractures
Isolated fractures of the large and small trochanter, proximal femur, diaphysis and distal femur are distinguished (Fig. 13.1).

The proximal section (metaepiphysis) of the femur is limited by a line running along the lower edge of the lesser trochanter, distal section (metaepiphysis) - a square with sides equal to the widest part of the distal metaepiphysis. Between these areas, the diaphysis is located.
