Currently, the ecological situation in the Russian Federation and globally requires competent professionals, who should realise their role in solution of the environmental issues.
The objectives of studying Pharmaceutical Ecology are:
- training students to be environmental chemists by teaching them the theoretical laws of ecology and environmental protection fundamentals, for them to realise the unfavourable environmental situation in Russia and globally;
- training of practical habits and skills necessary for a pharmaceutical analyst of an environmental laboratory at chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises.
Skills that a student should possess, are:
- waste water sampling at chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises;
- determination of organoleptic, chemical and physical-and-chemical methods for waste water analysis in accordance with normative documents;
- atmospheric air sampling and identification of air pollutants in accordance with normative documents;
- assessment of food additive quality in accordance with the specification; monitoring chemical pollutants in food additives in accordance with current documents.
